In my old '85 2.8L, it used to whistle, just like it was supercharged. Sounded pretty cool, but would often run like crap, at low RPM.
Of course, the whistle was coming from a disconnected vacuum line....

I agree check all your vaccum lines. One of mine fell off of the airbox and made a very loud whistle. Didn't affect how it was running, but it sure did bother me.

Hold your hand over the throttle body with it running (take off intake hose) hold your hand over the TB and you should be able to snuff the engine out quick.
If you have a good leak it will sputter to die.
Also whe looking for vaccum leaks I take the orfice out of my propane torch and put a long fuel line over it and turn the gas on low and put the hose near where there maybe a vaccum leak.
You will hear a raise or sputter in the RPM and you found your leak.
The propane trick comes from the days of adjusting the old Carter 4bbl venturi carb on Chryslers.

Specking of these. My tranny makes a turbo wind up noise before it shifts. sounds cool. But is it normal? Its not really loud. but if windows down and going slow you can hear it. but just a lil bit over my exhaust. It may not even be my tranny. So any idea would be cool. jeep does not run any different.
