Where does it go to

So recently replaced the ball joints on my 1999 4.0 jeep grand Cherokee and found a loose hose. Looks like its been loose for a while previous owner must have done something. I was able follow where the other end goes to. Can anyone help me on what this does and where it should be connected to? Its under the master cylinder.

Is that the front axle vent hose?

Where does the other end lead? If it leads to the axle, no worries.

the other end is the one thats loose. It leads to nowhere. I'll make sure to check again, but I guess you're right.

Am not sure. I found a hose hanging from the bottom and saw that it started on the top(pic with red circle). So this one end the other end is loose.

If you have a Dana 30 and it is the axle vent, it plugs in to the top left of the back of the differential.
