ok so i am getting a clicking noise coming out of the eft side front wheel when i turn the wheel to the left or right. i think it is the wheel bearing but i dont know. any help would help a lot. dont have a lot of money and cant be replacing everything on that side...lol. oh yeah the noise is a metal on metal clicking/popping sound.

Welcome to CF. Sounds like it may be the CV joint (or u-joint whichever you have) on the LF axle at the steering knuckle. Check the condition of the boot for any tears/damage that could let the grease escape, and cause joint failure. The noise would be the same turning in either direction.
A bad left wheel/hub bearing would make more of a rumbling/roaring noise that would go away on left turns as weight was removed from it, and get louder on right turns as weight was transferred onto it.

yeah i dont see any tear in the boot but the jeep has like 237000 miles on it. yeah it doesnt make any noise when driving in straight line. oh and when i have the front left wheel off the ground i can get side to side play in the wheel. what would that mean???

If you grab the tire at the 9 & 3 o'clock positions and have noticeable play, it could be the bearing, worn steering components, or even loose lug nuts. Have someone observe the different components while you move the tire.

yeah my hands are at the 9 and 3 position. i get a popping feeling out of the wheel. no movement from anything else.
