whats wrong with my jeep

i have a 97 jeep grand cherokee 4x4 it cranks and is getting spark and fire to the coil but wont start what could it be

Fuel or lack of it ? check to see if its getting fuel if you have spark that would be the next thing I would check!

Engine: 4.0L

Try squirting a little fuel down the throttle bore. It should fire up on that, then die. I don't like ether, it's way too violent! Too much can damage an engine.
