Default What's leaking

2004 JGCL 4.0L, 72,000 miles. The dealer repaired the rear main seal a couple months ago. That leak appears to have stopped. Now another in the front of the engine. The front one is about the size of a 50 cent piece and sometimes smaller. The rear one is about the size of a quarter. Recently replaced the valve cover gasket due to leaks.

All fluids are good at this time. Differentials are not leaking. I should have measured the two points when it was parked in the road. It's light brown and and has no odor.

Any ideas? The garage said they couldn't find any leaks. Seems like it happens after driving more than 15 min. with the A/C, defroster off.

Thanks Gents

Park Jeep and wait for drip, find drip and look up to see where it came from. Consider that the drips could be running down something first before hitting the ground. Look up behind the harmonic balancer to see if you can tell if its getting wet with oil. Also if the trans fluid or p/s fluid is dirty it might look brown when it drips on the ground.

Yep, front main seal most likely, where the harmonic balance enters the timing cover. These will sometimes only leak with the engine running. Also find the oil pressure sensor and make sure it's not leaking, seen that before too and it would also only leak with the engine running.

I've been spotting the driveway with sand to cover up the spots to identify new ones and the last days no drips. I'm thinking that original valve cover gasket was leaking bad. Will report back if it starts again.
