94 GC would not start the other day. The key bottoms out in the lock cylinder with no spring back to the run position. I bought a new ignition switch and it did not work, still had no spring back to the run position.
Should I buy a new lock cylinder or is it something else? CPS and starter has been replaced within the last 4 years.

Look at the end of the lock cylinder and see if it's all there. If it's chipped you'll have the problem you described.

Thanks, I got it to turn over. The only problem I think I have now is the security system recognizing the keys that came with the new lock cylinder.
How do I get these new keys recognized by the car? dealership?

Anyone have any ideas on why it still won't start? I called the dealership and said that my car didn't have the security that requires my key but I assumed it did since my security light stays on when I try it with the new lock cylinder and its associated key.
