Default What tranny do I have?

1993 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2 NP249 Transfer Case. Do I have the 46RH tranny? How can I tell? Reason being, my freakin' Throttle Valve Cable is severed, and I'm on a brutal hunt for a replacement. It is a discontinued part, and no junkyard in Denver has one. If someone can come up with one, I'll pay top dollar. My only other option is to try to make one out of a bicycle brake cable, but it doesn't look like it'd be easy.

Thank's. Close, but no cigar. Throttle cables, yes. Throttle VALVE cables, no. (Kick down cable.)
This sucks horribly. Chrysler discontinuing this item is BS of the highest order. A cable of any kind should never be discontinued. Especially this cable. Still selling the accelerator cable, but not the kick down cable?? The kick down cable, due to it's construction looks to me to be more likely to break than the accelerator cable. What MORONS at Chrysler.
Sorry, really pissed here.

I had to replace that cable on my '94 V8 and got mine at my local Chrysler/Jeep dealer in Watertown, CT...the link to their website is below...not sure if they'll ship it out there but worth a shot...If I remember correctly, I want to say it was about $75 but don't quote me on that considering I did this about 2 years ago now.

I'll be back on the hunt this week. I'll check out XJ cables, Dakota cables, and call Bradshaw (although every dealer in Denver said it was definitely discontinued). Thank's BRO's.

Give this guy a try. He can get his hands on most anything Jeep related. Email him directly at kolak@aol.com and tell him what you are trying to get. It may take him some time to respond but he can usually get you what you need.

Hats off to you, Country. Kolak didn't have the cable, but the parts rep over there was on top of his game, and he got me the original part number, and found the cable still in stock at a couple of out-of-state dealerships. The cable is discontinued, and there are not many left.

For anyone else interested this subject:
If you have a 1993 ZJ with the 5.2L and 46RH transmission, and you need a Transmission Throttle Valve Cable, the one that you need is part number 52078447. Any other part number, and you don't have the original setup. 52078447 is for the 1993 ONLY. In 1994, a bracket changed (don't know which bracket), and it's a different cable with a different part number. (52079204) You might be able to get this cable to work, but you'd have to do some modification. Other posters in this thread have said they've gotten away with other cables. It's probably true.
