I am waiting for the trans to be rebuilt for my dads 95 Grand Cherokee limited with the V8 and 46rh transmission. We were going to replace the stock trans cooler with an aftermarket one. Will any of the aftermarket coolers be big enough or is there a size we should look for? One more question is there a write up on removing the drain back ball in the original cooler line if we decide to flush and reuse that one? Thanks for any assistance.

 

Coolers are determined by the load size total of the unit and trailer, your trans shop should be able to advise you on this. You will also need to find a size that fits the area where you need it to go for best cooling.

 

Ok I will ask today when they update on the rebuild. Was curious what others used if they replaced or bypassed their factory cooler and about the drain back valve or ball in the line.
