Water sound behind the dash. I searched and tried the ideas, but its still there
So my 97 GC has a water sound behind the dash in the morning when I leave for work. I tried the internet solution of pulling the carpet away from the passengers side floor and drilling a hole. I did everything they said to do and no water came out.
I really need help. Any other ideas?

Is it a gurgling, squishy sound? If so, it may be that you need more coolant in the cooling system. My does the same thing when I first start it up. Last time it happened, I ran the jeep til it was warm then added coolant and the gurgling went away. Just an idea.

I should probably check my coolant level, I'm getting this as well, almost sounds like falling water and I haven't bothered with it

IIRC, the fix is something like...run the vehicle until it hits normal operating temp., turn the heat on high with the blower motor on low or medium and let that run til the cabin gets toasty then top off the coolant level while the engine is running....I believe this is what I did last year and it got rid of the squishy gurgling. Don't quote me on this procedure though, search it. like I said, it's been a year since I did it and I do actually have to do it again in a week or so.

now if I could only figure out why my interior light are not working. All the gauges, heat controls and shifter lights work, but the overhead lights dont work at all.
The radio fuse is good. Its bugging the hell out of me too.

I swapped the console from my old grand cherokee and they didnt work either.
I also noticed that the computer in the overhead console always says I have gone 2000 miles even shortly after resetting it. Weird...

I also noticed that my old 94 GC had a switch for the lights in the door jamb.
The 97 that I just got last week doesnt even have the hole for that switch.
