Can't seem to find a 3.0 liter diesel 4x4 Grand Cherokee in the US. Willing to travel to get one and drive home to Florida. Any leads would be appreciated. I have a 4x2 Overland diesel for sale/trade.

The 3.0-liter V-6 diesel engine, built by Mercedes-Benz, produces 215 hp (160 kW) at 3,800 rpm, has a class-leading 376 lb.-ft. torque (510 N•m) at 1,600-2,800 rpm and can tow up to 7,400 pounds. The 3.0-liter engine gives the Jeep Grand Cherokee a class-leading driving range of approximately 450 miles and gets an estimated fuel economy of 18 miles/city and 23 miles/highway for 4x2 models and 17 miles/city and 22 miles/highway for 4x4 models. Earlier in the year, the engine earned a spot on Ward's "10 Best Engines" list.
Clean diesel technology improves fuel economy by up to 30 percent and has up to 20 percent lower carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel is available in 42 states, excluding California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

2005 Grand Cherokee with 3.0 V6 Turbo Diesel


In Europe, South America, South Africa and Australia, a V6 CRD engine produced by Mercedes-Benz was available from its introduction in 2005:
OM642 3.0 L CRD V6 Turbo Diesel with Variable geometry turbocharger (VGT). It produces 215 horsepower (160 kW; 218 PS) and 376 lb·ft (510 N·m) of torque at 1,600 to 2,800 rpm at a fuel consumption of 17 mpg-US (14 L/100 km; 20 mpg-imp) city and 22 mpg-US (11 L/100 km; 26 mpg-imp) highway.Note: MPG figures are based on United States Environmental Protection Agency, European combined consumption is 27.7 mpg-imp (10.2 L/100 km; 23.1 mpg-US).
In North America and elsewhere this 3.0 CRD V6 was available from 2007, but was short lived. The Mercedes-Benz sourced unit meets stringent Euro 4 Emission stardards without the need for a diesel particulate filter - which hampers vehicle efficiency, however - it includes a diesel particulate filter (North America only) to apparently further reduce exhaust emissions. It was not however available for sale in California or certain Northeast states, due to new stricter emissions regulations for non-commercial vehicles. Vehicles could be bought used in California and Northeast states, as the regulations only applied to new vehicles.
This engine is also used in the majority of Mercedes-Benz vehicles: C-Class, CLS, E-Class, S-Class, ML-Class, GLK-Class, GL-Class, G-Class, R-Class, the Vito / Viano and the Dodge / Freightliner / Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

in our country most of newer jeep models has been sold with diesel engines.
and those 3.0 crd engines are highly recommended

we own one 2009 make. lots of torque, good acceleration around 9 seconds.
