VIC Problems
Hello everyone. I am now the proud owner of a 93 ZJ. Picked it up in a swap for my heavily modded TJ.
Anyhow, my question...
I'm having problems with the VIC (Vehicle Information Center).
Sometimes it is as simple as it won't save the time and date. I can set it upon initial startup, and then go down the road and notice it flashing.
Sometimes, like today, it's not on at all.
It sounds like it could be a loose connection?
Anyone have any issues similar? Anyone have wiring colors I should check? or plugs?
I did a search, but came up empty handed.
If it's relevant, it's a 93 Grand Cherokee Limited, 4.0L, Auto, Fulltime 4WD.
Thanks in advance,
-Steve

My old '94 ZJ Limited did that when I first got it. All I did was pull the dash apart remove the VIC clean all connection and put it back together worked from that point on..

Well, I finally got around to trying that.
No luck. I pulled it out, cleaned it up. Nothing.
Now it hasn't even came on at all.
Other things on the same circut work, so the fuses are good.
Any other suggestions?

I had the same problem with my 95 GC 4.0L AWD. It turned out to be a broken wire, the one that supplies battery power at all times (memory) I believe it was the orange wire but I am not sure it was 2 years ago.
