VIC

Ok, the VIC hasnt worked on my ZJ since i got it. Finally got most of the other issues solved so Im working on this one. Fuse is good and its getting power just no lights. Going to swap in on from JY. Do I have to get one from an identical or will any from 94 work?

It's usually the solder joints that go bad. Take yours apart and resided them you don't have anything to loose at this point. Pulling a Vic from the JY is a gamble anyways.

I found a cubby in the JY and replaced my Vic with it. More storage.

I will look at resoldering the connections. I know the guy that owns the JY and he has a 94 xj that has a working one for $20 all have to do is pull it out and put the broke one back in so there is no hole. I've seen this one work just not sure if they are the same as I've never seen mine work. I'll pull mine apart tomorrow.

Yeah they just go bad with age you might get lucky and find a working one.Other options are a cubby hole or there is two switch panels that replace it http://www.prime4x4.com/shop/Switch-...-DZ-Series.htm

Mine was re-soldered, plus all the joints inspected under a microscope.

It retained an infrequent / random alert chime that I was unable to eliminate, so I swapped it to a different part from eBay.

All has been good for a year.
