Tyre size on stock suspension
edit: guess who posted in the wrong forum :( sorry...
Hello, I've got a stock 96 XJ which is currently running on 225/70/15 tyres - but they are different tyres front and back which I doubt is helping the t/case change modes. Also it looks scruffy :/ In looking at new tyres, the Toyo A/T and Goodyear Wrangler AT/R both look good options but are only available in 225/75/15. Will there be any problems with the extra sidewall height on a standard XJ? There looks to be plenty of room for a small increase but I'd rather hear from someone who has done it before laying out on a full set. The jeep is going to be used mainly onroad for snow and then offroad for a bit of shooting in muddy fields/grass. Probably not used much in the summer. Cheers! |
I have a Grand but 225/75x15 is what came on it from the factory. I think the cherokees are the same. There shouldn't be a problem.

You know, I think you're right and the tyres I have on at the moment are actually a size smaller...
