Are you towing something bigger than the Jeep is rated for when you get this message? If not, take it to the dealer, and get it fixed under warranty.

Transmission Temp High Warning - but No Error Codes - then blew the engine
I have 2005 Cherokee Laredo, the transmission temp high light appeared and I took into the shop immediately. The dealership's service said there were no error codes in the system and they were not able to replicate the error. I took it home and within hours, the engine overheated and threw a couple rods . . . now its DOA.
Anyone know why there weren't any error codes?
Any thoughts on how to determine whether or not proper diagnostic processes were followed?
This was a 2005 with 89k miles with all of its maintenance performed - I'm one of those nerds that takes it to the dealership for all of the PM . . . ;-)
any thoughts & guidance are appreciated - Thanks!

Doesn't Jeep offer a 7-70 factory warranty?
BT 2005 Jeep Owner- if you in fact have had all service work and have reciepts and Jeep has a 7-70 warranty, I would consider getting the district manager involved for your local dealer. Working at dealers, sometimes even if out of warranty but you have all services being performed, and the veicle isnt a POS, they may split the cost for you for repairs. Dealerships I've been at have done it before.
