Transmission Stuck in drive While in park?

Engine: 5.2
Transmission Stuck in drive While in park?
Got a 96 grand cherokee 5.2 a/t quadra trac. When I have Park selected it wont move but when i give it gas it trys to go. When all other gears are selected same as it is in park but it will roll but wont go over 2500 rpms. Any Idea?

Engine: 4.0
Check the shifter cable. had a bad plastic bushing on my wifes and it did the same thing. Cables broke or plastic bushings are bad.
