Default Transmission clutch scoring

I知 rebuilding my 42re and I致e come across some scoring on the surface of the front clutch. Not sure if any of you are knowledgeable about these transmissions, but I知 trying to figure out if it can be resurfaced or should I just replace it? I知 going to replace the clutch disks and steels though.

Nope. That "Hard part" should be replaced. There should be a spacer steel just under that plate that controls the distance the piston moves to engage the clutch. Too much distance results in harsh engagement and premature failure of the friction plates. You can get different thicknesses of the spacer plate, but apparently the spacer was spinning and wore out that retainer.

I've never had a 42re apart, but I've rebuilt GM THM 350's and 700R4's before.
