Default transmission bad

just recently i was driving my jeep and stopped at a light the transmission slipped two times in a row. after the 2 stops when accelerating. though sometimes when accerating from a dead stop seems that it lacks of power and does not whant to shift after that the torque kicks in hard. I have been told by 2 mechanics the the valvebody is bad and most likely has gunk in the shafts of where the pens act like pistons, the valvebody. i m having some trouble thinking on what to do to either sell it keep it for awhile which i would like to do in order too retake my nfpt certification test. and would like to find a jeep rubicon after getting a job in personal fitness i would hate to go to a junk yard and buy one thats bad.

A new transmission is cheaper than a new car payment.

You can try to change fluid and filter, and put some Lucas oil in. See what happen.

changing the oil will not do anything. and I highly doubt the valve body is bad. Have you checked for codes? Maybe a bad EPC solenoid.

I never had my transmission slip before, but a few years ago it wouldnt shift at all, going high in RPM's.. After i changed the filter and the tranny fluid it shifts smoothly now..

It doesnt hurt to try.. Fluid is like what $30 ?
