Default Transfer case questions here?

Have the 2001 WJ limited with the NV247 transfer case (qudara-tec 2 drive) so I have. 4 wheel high hear all the time of 4 wheel low gear all the time and neutral. My question is that I recently found out that jeep made a select drive model(2 wheel high, 4 wheel part time, 4wheel all time, 4lo all time) they also made 2 different models the NV242LD( light duty) and the NV242HD (heavy duty) what I'm wondering is can you swap it in easily from the NV247 to the NV252, and what is better the LD or HD and if it's at all better then the NV247?

Looking for people who have this transfer case and know about it or just people who know what's better?
Thank you
