Default transfer case noise

I have a noise while rolling that sounds like the t-case. I drained the fluid what was in there very low. i installed fresh dexron fluid and ran it up on jask stands and didnt notice it as much, well I decided to drive it down the road and no better still the same noise. I didnt notice the noise coming from the front dif. just by the case. I later put the t-case in 4 low doing some minor climbing and such and really noticed the noise very loud, does anyone have a idea on this, I am thinkin a bearing or bushing. it a 231j t-case

T cases are chain driven, the chain could have stretched from low fluid and excessive wear.

Good point, that was indeed a very vague discription of your problem.

It does seems to point to a tcase related issue.

On a side note, I'd like my truck to "roar" at people. That could be cool.

Considering the OP posted this back last March, I'm just wondering if he figured it out. I would assume so since it's been 10 months.
