Well, it's finally started. My tranny is starting to slip while it's in second gear. I don't drive all that much...I put less than 10,000 miles on it last year. So my question is...any ideas how much longer I've got til I finally lose the tranny? I have some Lucas tranny gunk but I haven't been able to put it in cuz my tranny fluid is still pretty full. Any ideas?

There really is no way to tell how long it will last, once bands or clutches start slipping it goes downhill from there. If its second gear only I suspect a problem in the front band. A band adjustment may buy you more time too. I am not a firm believer in trans additives but I have heard of people having some good results out of the Lucas additive. If putting the additive in was my only resort, then being a little overfull will not cause any harm.
