Tranny Question
I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, it has the quadrac 4wd tranny/t-case and I've been trying to replace it with the same tranny/t-case from a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Orvis edition. Problem is that it won't slip completely together, it stops an inch before completely flush with engine. Any ideas on what is happening and how to solve it?

2X what he said. If you're trying to install the trans with the torque convertor still on the engine, STOP!!. Remove it from the engine and make sure it's fully seated on the trans before you attempt to mate them. Turn the convertor back and forth while pushing back on it. When it engages the pump, it will move rearward your inch. When you get the two units close together, make sure the convertor spins freely before bolting it up. THEN put in the flexplate bolts. Any other method can destroy the convertor seals, input shaft, or the pump.
