Default thrush welded muffler

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee that I'd like to put a Thrush Welded muffler on.... does anybody have a part number for this if you've already done it to yours?

The stock muffler on my 2000 WJ is about 26" long. Go to Thrush's website and see if they have a direct replacement. I doubt it, so you'll have to use an extension pipe and probably a tailpipe because mine is welded and doesn't have a straight section long enough to just cut it off and attach it to something else.

Just remember this. A six cylinder's sound is not the same as the deep rumble you get from a V8. You didn't say what you have, so I'm just speculating.

There is nothing more irritating than a 4 cylinder with a raspy muffler. I'd like to shoot every one I hear!

Hahaha agreed Dave, this is why I have a v8, have you ever used a glass pack muffler, I heard those sound good with a six cylinder

I'm not saying the sound of a 6 cylinder is bad. It's just...well...different than a V8. Vehicle exhaust sound is a science that everybody wants a piece of. Look at all the choices in after market mufflers that are out there. Hard to choose if you haven't heard them.

The firing pulses of a 6 come at a different rate than an 8, so the sound is different. I've heard many V12's in my racing days, but the first time I heard a V10, I went "WTF is that?"

A glass pack has one disadvantage. It changes tone as the glass burns out. A good high flow chambered muffler will not. I personally like Flowmaster but they are bit more expensive, although they even make a cat!
