I replaced a damaged rear hatch on my 98 project, i had to cut it off basically.

New hatch is on and i need to install the striker at the bottom. Which way does it go? Wide or narrow side towards rear bumper?

Does yours have the 45* shape at top on the thin side? Wondering if it's normal or indicative of wear..
