Tailgate Lock/Unlock
There have been several threads about Jeep Cherokee Tailgate locking problems. I have a somewhat different problem situation. On a 2002 Chekokee sometimes locking and unlocking from the Key FOB works fine. At other times unlocking from the FOB doesn't work; then, after the car sits for awhile, it does work. Also, sometimes after stowing something, closing the gate, leaving it unlocked and driving, the gate becomes locked and won't open from the FOB. Suggestions please. Thanks.

Old fart with a wrench
I've had to lube the latches on my 2000 a couple of times or I get the same problem. It's not that it's locked, it's just that it won't release.
