T-Case Strength?

I'm toying with an idea for building some power on my '97 ZJ 5.2 V 8. It has a new crate trans., and the full time 4WD Transfer case w/ 4LO-N-4HI. I'm wondering how much power that T-case will handle? When it fails, is there a stronger factory unit? I'm fairly new to 4WD, so I have no knowledge base to draw from. Thanks.

your 249 t-case has the highest torque rating of any other offered in zj's so theres not really a stronger factory unit but alot of guys swap in a 242 when the VC goes out on the 249 so they can have 2wd
