sway bar or no sway bar
who runs without a front sway bar? I took mine off and dont mind the extra roll. i know alot of people say keep it on in case you need to swerve , some say drive it like jeep and not a mustang. i am just wondering if you notice a big difference off road. and do you have the rear on or off

Rear off and big difference on road.

good or bad on road, how is it off road
|
You get more flex off road, but you have to keep the speed down because of body roll. Unless there is a real reason for the flex, it stays hooked up.

sweet, i was just reading other posts and learned about the search feature on here. EVERYONE says remove it. looks like its coming off tomorrow
thank you |
why not just get/make quick disco's...ALOT safer IMO,i wouldn't remove mine
|
I been thinking about it...not a bad idea really
|
I would get the Quick D's IMO thats what i have that way if someone drives your jeep they can be safe on the road just make a bracket or something to hook them to when they are disconnected

You guys he's talking about a ZJ it's a completely different ride than a XJ. You will hate it if you remove the rear swap bar on a ZJ. Do to the coil suspension it will have a tendency to have a ton of body roll. I tried the no rear sway bar for about a day in my ZJ, and it about killed me. It's a small sway bar and by removing it you'll end up with a negative affect.
|
On my XJ I have my rear removed, the only reason they come with sway bars in the rear is that the springs are so soft it keeps the roll down. When you lift them your putting on spring packs that are usually more leafs and alot stiffer.ZJs yes have coils that are longer stiffer when you lift them, but you will still get lots of body roll.I have lifted a couple of ZJs and with no sway bar in the rear they get killer flex but scary ride on the street.

very valid points....looks like quick D's are the way to go,thats why im here and thats why your here.to help. thank you all. any links out there for ideas on home made?
i did take off the rear sway yesterday, havnt drivin it yet though. ill let you know how it goes |
For offroad I know why you would want to take the sway bar off but for road there is no point. Just get JKS Quicker Disconnects or what ever ones you would like because JKS are expensive but good. That is what I am going to do. I would say just keep the sway bars in. Do not want to see you die!!
