Default To swap TC or not?

97 GC with 249tc. Was pulling out a steel post in the backyard a few weeks back, when I noticed only the rear tires were turning. Didn't think much of it at the time. Well yesterday I was messing around the RR tracks at the end of my property, getting it turned around to climb back up a hill when it started popping. Got up the hill and started making several figure 8s,several loud pops. I'm assuming it's the vc going out in the 249. Now this rig is really just a hunting rig, very rarely spends any real time off road. So,rebuild the 249 or swap it?

For the cost of rebuilding it, you'd be better off swapping in another TC.

X2 a swap would be cheaper and you would have peace of mind of the VC never screwing up again.

If I went with the swap, what's the preferred case? Can I only use one from a Grand?

NP231 is the case to look for. It would be best to find one from the same year Grand Cherokee because input shaft spline counts and lengths changed in 96.

I guess you type too fast. I can only type with one finger on each hand. Haven't learned how to type correctly yet.
