Surge at idle, missing under heavy load
 

Hello,
I have 2000 grand Cherokee Limited with 5.9. Getting intermittent (though more frequent check engine light. Typically comes on during warm up. At idle getting about 800 rpm surge every few minutes, lasts about 3-5 secs. Running rougher, and will have severe power loss/miss at 1/2 to full throttle. Gives four or five sharp power drops before I can decrease throttle.

2000 with a 5.9? To my knowledge they put the 5.9 into the 98 year model only...

Code reader would help.
