Default Strange noise when applying brakes

Just got a 2000 laredo 4x4 6cyl. 122,000 miles. When I apply the brakes or hit a bump I get a rubbing noise that sounds like it is coming from center of the jeep below the radio. You can only hear it from the inside.

Now the jeep needs shocks bad. Is it possible due to the shocks being bad something is coming in contact and rubbing ? This noise only occurs when going forward over 10 mph and applying the brakes the nose dips down. Or when I hit a bump and it causes the wheels to move up. It doesn't do it when in reverse.

I've check what I could for anything rubbing, the rotors etc. are good. Nothing is loose with the front suspension. I took the flange off and checked flex plate bolts they're good to go.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hmmm...

As a brake tech, I'd start checking the inside face of the rotors.. They seem to deteriorate quick. That would cause a rubbing noise.

Kswiencki - The brake pads and rotors are fairly new.

This sounds a little worrysom.
Maybe you should get this checked out by a alignment shop. This may be loose A arms, or ball joints. If nothing is found check motor and trans mounts

Well figured it out. The 4x4 shift linkage was rubbing on the front driveshaft. A few zip ties and problem fixed. Thanks everyone for the advoce.
