starting problem

Exclamation starting problem

hi i have a 1998 grand cherokee 4.0 ltre used it this morn it was fine parked up and went back to it this afternoon and it would not start like its not firing at the plugs can anyone help pls

Well you will need to check whether you have either Fuel or spark before anyone is going to be able to give you some sound advice. Check both of these 1st and let us know what you find.

hi i have no feed to the coil no spark i have tried changing the ecu but still nothing

Well stop throwing parts at it untill you diagnose the problem.

Got a Check Engine Light? What codes, if any?

Unplug the CPS and reconnect it.

had a auto spark looking at it the reader tell me there is a link error and cant get codes and whats that thing you told me to unplug and where thx

Crank Position Sensor. It's mounted on the drivers side of the bell housing but the connector is secured on the top rear of the intake manifold.

thx had a look there is nothing there on the starters side theres a plug above it could this be it as iam in scotland and got the european orvis auto model 1998 4.0 litre thx for the help

hi checked the cks today and found i was getting a feed down 5v but when i turned the engine i was getting nothing back read 1.6v all the time

hi think its sorted today replaced the chankshaft sensor it started
