Well, five days ago we took the old PCM off, put the new (salvage) one on and guess what? The jeep wouldn't turn over. My SO cleaned the heck outta the old PSM and we slapped it back on. The jeep started up, ran like a scalded dog and has been running since. It's died a few times but starts right back up and keeps going. The tranny is another matter. Reverse only works when it's in 4-wheel. It gets my kiddo back and forth to school so I'm okay with our current jeep status.

That being said, I still own the thing so I'm sure I'll be back to visit with y'all over the next issue. I love it!!!

don't you have to reprogram the PCM when its not the original after installing it? that could be why it did not work.

You may be correct, I cannot say for sure. Chelle's (like mine) is pre OBDII. Much changed in 1996 when OBDII came on the scene.

Good to hear your up and running, even if only in a "limp" mode, Chelle!
