Default Spark, fuel, wont run. Sugar in gas tank. Whaaat?

So,im working on this ladys jeep. 2000 grand with 4.7 v8.

Someone dumped sugar in her tank. Ive already removed the tank, cleaned it out, replaced the pump, fuel filter, and injectors/rail and plugs(champion coppers).

Now it wont run. you can turn the engine over and it'll kick and stumble and the throttle body sounds like a glasspack. as soon as you let go of the key it dies.

Its got spark, and fuel. fuel pressure was 55-56 and held above 50 after a few minutes of watching it. Only codes showing up during all this is a misfire on 1 and 5. Spark looks a little weak,orange/yellow tint. What can i be looking at now? I wouldnt think the crank sensor etc would do this all of a sudden...

edit : tried some ether in the throttle body. didnt make a difference. This is gotta be spark/timing related...

I'd check your spark plug gap and make sure you have the wires on the right plugs. If the fuel filter and pump sock were in place sugar in the tank wouldn't have even made it to the injectors since it doesn't dissolve in gasoline. Nonetheless, a fuel pressure check might not be a bad idea.

Dissolved sugar will gum up injectors

Never mind I just seen where you replaced them

Ok,today i got it running. But still big problems.

Only way it will run,rough...sounds like its skipping on 2-3 cylinders if i unplug the 2 vacuum lines on the drive side of the throttle body.

Its basically acting like its not getting enough air. So i though..hmm maybe iac bad? replaced it. same crap...

While running,i tried unplugging one coil at a time to find a misfire. Driver side,no change in sound. passenger side would change on each one id pull. So for some reason driver side isnt getting the right spark. the tailpipe smokes black, and after running for 5 min engine starts loading up and popping from excess fuel.

im about to give up. serious help from techs needed.

Try swapping the injectors from the drivers side to the passenger side and see if that changes anything. The sugar may have stopped up some injectors.

In his original post, he said he replaced the injectors. Is this TBI or port injection? I'm not familiar at all with the 4.7's induction system.

Its got 8 individual injectors. Ive yet to mess with it again, the guy that owns it had back surgery and has been busy lately,i cant do anything else until i get the go ahead.

I took a 9 volt battery and tested each injector. All of them clicked. So injectors work.
I took a noid and every connector for the coils, and the injectors receive power.

So,its got power to all injectors, and coils. I tested each coil too,all fire.

I guess cam/crank sensors are next. thanks for the help, keep it coming.
