Slippery steering wheel

Default Slippery steering wheel
When I bought my WJ, someone had Armoralled the steering wheel. Can you believe it? After I cleaned that off, I noticed the plastic was worn smooth. Is there a preparation I can use on it or should I go to a leather cover. Finding a lace-on leather cover is getting difficult and most others make it feel too thick. I don't want to mess with the air bag by replacing it. Ideas?

Screw it, git rid of the steering wheel all together and convert it to joystick steering.
