skipping 4.0
I have a 1995 Grand Ckerokee, 4.0, auto, 130,000 miles. When its cold and a few other times it runs great. BUT like today after 2-3 miles it is just mean and nasty. It idles but not right. More then that just dosen't want to go. Spits and pots. Didn't get it to 20mph coming back till almost here and than ran fine. Its like a open EGR valve, bad cap, or map. fuels ok. THe last owner I found out put $2000. and never got it to go and junked it. Theres got to be some simlpe thing some where. Its not just one or two cly. Its all of them acting up. Mike

Welcome to CF Mike.
Pull the distributor and check the drive on the bottom of the shaft. It might be nearly sheared off causing the issues you're experiencing.JMO
