Selec-trac stuck
Help I made a dumb choice and parked on a snow berm today in my zj. To get up the snow mound I put it into full time 4wd well I noticed while leaving after I returned the lever back to 2wd this pesky t-case is still in 4 full time even though even the little screen in front of it says 2. I've done a few things, I stoped in an empty parking-lot went all the way back into 4 low, went back and forth a few times, stoped, put the t-case into neutral, and tried to go back and forth nothing happened of corse so it came out of 4 low just fine, I did the same thing for the other options on the case but failed to get it out of full time, even jacked the front up when I got home to try and force down by grabbing a wheel and rocking it forward and back, nothing. any ideas?

Sometimes it takes a while to get back into 2wd, or you can back up a few feet.

Did you look at the frame socket for the shift linkage torque arm to make sure the bushing hasn't come out of it's socket? Sitting on a snow pile could have put pressure on it and popped it out.

Here's how the factory suggests you shift the transfer case and I've been doing this since these things were new and I worked at the dealership. Quoted from the owner's manual. The suggestions in CAPS are mine.
"To engage, shift the transfer case lever from 2H to 4H while the vehicle is moving at any legal speed". I LET OFF THE GAS, THROW THE LEVER, TAP THE GAS AND LET OFF. 4L position: " To engage, slow the vehicle to 2-3 MPH , shift the transmission to Neutral, then shift the transfer lever to the right and pull firmly rearward to 4L". TO SHIFT OUT OF 4L, SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL WITH THE VEHICLE STOPPED, SHIFT THE TRANSFER CASE LEVER TO 2H, THEN THE TRANS TO D IF YOU HAVE AN AUTOMATIC, OR INTO FIRST GEAR WITH A MANUAL, AND CONTINUE ON.
