Seat Swap
Wondering if it is possible to swap front seats from a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited into a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

As far as I know, the answer is yes. The seat cushion unit is bolted to it's rail system with 4 nuts-on-studs underneath. They are a little difficult to get to, but as far as XJs, ZJs, and WJs are concerned, they are a bolt in. What ever the rail system is, either powered or manual, doesn't matter. The floor bolt pattern changed in '99, so you have to use the existing rails for anything after that. I just put '97 Cherokee seats in my '00 Grand. As a matter if fact, I have 2-door seats in my 4-door.
The reason I changed mine was, for me, the original seats were uncomfortable and the door side bolster was collapsing on the driver's seat. The hardest part was getting the floor bolts out of the Cherokee. They were very rusted and I wound up breaking 2 of them. The driver's seat was welded to a steel plate on the floor because of rust, so I had to stand on my head to get the cushion nuts off. A 1/2" flat ratchet wrench worked for that. They cost me $15 each at Pick&Pull. I even used the side plastic panels from the original seats because they screwed right on.
IDK about the TJ seats (Wrangler), but you didn't ask about them. Knowing Chrysler, I imagine they will also.
