since you are gonna go bigger eventually go ahead and get 4.75 back spacing thats pretty much standard when it comes to the bigger tires if my memory serves me right. also give summit racing a call, in their new catalog they advertise rims that are exactly like the cragar d window rims for 37 bucks i think it was and get 15x8 with 4.75 BS

The summit ones are Craiger. I got a set of 15x8 but I like 4" of back spacing so I don't have to worry about clearance issues sinch I run 12.50 and 13.50 tires. Of course with the full width axles I run now rubbing isn't an issue. I'd go with an 8" wheel if you plan on running anything like a 31 or larger in the future.

I just installed my rims yesterday so I can help with part of your question.
As far as lugs you want the 5x4.5. I am running a 2"BB with 31 bfg trail ta tires on the crager soft 8 my rims are 5x4.5 with 4" of backspacing and 8" wide. I originally had the tires on stock cherokee steel wheels and the rubbed the inner fender at full lock. After I installed the new rims I did have to trim the corners of the plastic bumper.
I can't say if you can run your tires on a 8" rim.
