Right rear brake still overheating after complete fix with new caliper and brake line
 

2012 grand Cherokee unlimited, no “expert” can find the reason this driver side rear wheel is overheating. Everything new, and mechanics say all fixed, still overheats!
Experts are not experts.
Where else do we look for solution?

Did they check, or try adjusting the parking brake?

Possibly the flexible hose to the caliper has internal damage - what happens is that the internal rubber can form a one-way valve and retain fluid pressure in the brake line, keeping the caliper pistons in the 'ON' position and the pads in contact with the brake disc.
This does sometimes happen and is often overlooked as a cause.

Like it or not it's the parking brake and or cable has rusted frozen. Check cable for operation very carefully specifically does it allow the shoe or pad to return to resting position after applied and released.

The ongoing problem of extreme heat in the driver side rear brake is that it is intermittent. All the fixes by mechanics have not gotten to the root problem. Boy, is this ever frustrating. New brake line, new caliper,,,,, problem solved??? nope,,,,,, And, only on the driver side rear, no where else!!!!
Could this be a recall issue?? In reading online, this is a frequent issue,,, no real solution.

When you jack up the wheel, can you rotate it or is it locked? With a rear brake dragging, it is most likely the parking brake cable rusted. Might be adjustment also. Unless the pads have worn a notch in the spindles, ..that does happen too ..weld them up and grind them down. Otherwise I suggest finding a real mechanic. Brakes are not rocket science, more of an athletic event.

They are! I'ts push ups,. sit ups, kneel, squat, twist and turn turn and twist on your knees, up and down, repeat over and over

i fixed my rear lines and caliper it still locks and so does the front now anybody fixed these before

X nope nobody ever fixed their brakes before.

like mine it takes a second to release after stop on one side so that could be why ones hotter. or maybe a little air in line on side thats cooler making it not work right. or a bearing going bad would make it hotter or shock maybe or tire wear maybe.... just thought id try to help please keep us updated
