Replaced front DS--still noisy
2000 GC 4.7 V8, 247 T-case, double u-joints...
Jeep was making a howling, whining noise at movement. When I took off the front DS the noise was much less and only between 40-60 mph. I bought a used DS, and after installing it is making the same noise again.
Any suggestions?

probably your t-case.
is there any up/down play in the front axle pinion output?
what about the t-case front pinion output?
those 247 cases have a viscous coupling system, and are prone to failure.
