Rear suspension sensor?!

Hi,

Just bought my first Grand Cherokee WK 2008 CRD and today I've found that there is a small device (wich is supposed to be attached to my rear lower suspension arm) that is broken... I don't what it is supposed to do, but the small arm that looks like plastic is broken. Is it connected to a kind of sensor that move with the travel of the suspension.

Should I replace it or leave it like that? I'm pretty sure it has a purposed.:001_unsure:

Thank you for your help!

Welcome to CF!

The WK is a little newer than my experience, BUT I'd be willing to bet your jeep has "Load Leveling Suspension" on it. That sensor detects suspension compression and pumps air into the rear shocks to compensate. Just a guess, mind you!

If you're curious what equipment your jeep has on it, run your VIN thru a database (many out there) to get your build sheet. That will tell you all the standard equipment and options your particular jeep has on it. There is also a cool website for information about WKs in general. It's wkjeeps.com

Thank you for the info! I have an Overland edition full equip so that could be it. I'll check online for more info on the load levelibg system.

Thank you again!
