Radio issue

Ok I have a 94 grand Cherokee limited it's got the infinity oem deck, the problem is that it turns on sound comes on just can't see what it is displaying won't show anything can't even switch between am or fm. Not sure if there is a fuse or something in the deck itself.

Can't help on that, but don't think there is.

you have two, sources for 12 volt pos. 1 red wire is pos. for function of the unit. 1 yellow wire for the illumination of unit. (lights up your display) Sounds to me, you have a blown fuse, or other problems, with this wire. Both these wires should have a in-line fuse, located behind the unit (in the dash) Or worst case scenario, Your display is burnt out. I'd check the yellow wire first. Check the fuse. Check with meter, with the keys on. JMO!

normally the yellow wire is just the memory, if that is unhooked the radio won't save preset stations and the clock will reset when the key is off. yellow is constant power, red is switched power. an illumination wire is normally seperate. odds are if there is no visable display the led's on the radio are bad. even if the illumination wire wasn't getting signal the radio display should still be lit, it just wouldn't dim when the headlights are on.
