Default Puzzled, need advise

2003 Cherokee Larado 4x4, just did a complete brake job on front, Calipers, rotors, and pads, also outer tie rod ends. all that done i have a rubbing/grinding sound when applying the brakes from 35 mph or less,( like a warped rotor sound) but goes away if you let off the brake pedal. so, i took the rotors and pads back and got new ones and still same rub! shocks looked iffy, so i changed front shocks thinking when applying brakes the front end would dive down and rub somewhere, same rub.... wheel bearing seems tight and fine. I'm puzzled! any help would be appreciated.

I would check that the calipers are not hitting the wheel weights or inside the rim when the brake is applied. Some aftermarket calipers are not the same exact shape and size as the originals.

Might be time to rebuild the calipers. Can you pin point it to a specific side? Put it up on jack stands and spin the wheel while you have someone apply the brakes. Make sure you grease your caliper pins. Also, bleed the lines with new brake fluid.

You meant advice. Advise is pronounced "advize" (like advising a student).

My job here is done.

Did you have this same problem before you did the brake work?

And, have you checked the rears?

The poster who said rebuild the calipers apparently didn't see that you had already replaced them.

Warped rotors don't make grinding sounds. They shake the vehicle upon application.

Have you considered the possibility that you are merely hearing new pads and rotors breaking themselves in?

And, I hope you didn't get your stuff from Autozone.
