Default pulsing under braking ?

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee that pulses when braking as I pull to a stop at a stop sign or stop light. It feels like my tires are like ovals not circles. I just replaced both the brake pads and rotors on the front and the back brakes have about 2/3 left on the pads so I left them. I thought it was from the old worn rotors that were warped. Now what can it be? Air in the brake lines? I don't know? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you torque the lugs by hand? You should have replaced the pads too. Old pads on new rotors is a no no.

Remove the front rotors and make sure there is nothing stuck to the hub or rotor's mounting surface. A chunk of rust on the axle flange can cause a rotor to wobble. Also, check your rear rotors for warping. you said you replaced the front, but you weren't too clear about the rear.

I repalced the front rotors and pads but only inspected the rears and saw the pads were good so I left them. It's possible the rears are warped. I didn't find anything on the rotor mounting surfaces?

You had pulsation before and after front rotor and pad replacement? Sounds like its probably the rear.

A general rule of thumb is if the pulsation shakes the steering wheel then its probably the fronts, it if shakes more in the vehicle or seat then its the rear. Both will cause the brake pedal to pulsate.
