Problem finding the right T/C for my ZJ
Changed bearings, u-joints, calipers, bad lower control arm & serviced my frond differential.
Found out it was my transfer case all this time.
Would like to know where/website i can purchase a good T/C?
Any advice on the T/C if i should rebuild or buy new.
-Thank you

If you want my opinion, your 231 t/case is a much sought-after unit and easy to rebuild. I would rebuild it unless the case is damaged.

I would try jeep4x4.com which is Morris 4X4 Center. They give you a complete blow-up view of the 231 case and a list of parts. Just put your vehicle in and select the 231 case. I haven't seen a more inclusive parts drawing anywhere else.

It's one of the available t/cases in your model (ZJ). In your signature, you said you have the 231. I'm assuming this is right? I believe that case gives you 2WD, 4WD, and 4lo.

Okay, so you've got the 249. This is a problem because the viscous coupling runs around $300 or more. It's time to look for a rebuilt or swap for a 231 or 242. The specifics of the swap are many, but it can be done easily if you get the right unit. If you buy a used one, see if you can get the shift selector from the donor vehicle as well.
I personally like the 242 because it give me 2WD, 4WD part-time, 4WD full-time, and 4 lo. Part-time locks both axles together to drive simultaneously at the same speed, full-time uses a differential in the t/case to allow the axles to rotate at different speeds, and 4 lo is part-time. There are not many problem with it. No viscous coupling to worry about or replace.
