I just got my 2002 grand cherokee 4.0. I love it. I am now looking at performance of the jeep. I plan on putting a cat back and cold air intake to help it breath better, and they also help mpg some and not hurt it. My question is there something like a tuner, chip or other way to get power without hurting mpg. I drive a long distance for work and would hate to lose my 19mpg. So is there something that I could change quickly so I have power when I want it and mpg when I need it.

IMHO, leave it alone! 19 mpg is about the best you'll ever get. Start messing with it and you'll create problems.

A chip won't do much, if anything, for the 4.0. Don't waste the money on one. You get more bang for the buck with mods to help the engine to breathe better.

In addition to the intake and exhaust, you could bore out the restriction below the throttle plate to 60mm to match the top......or just buy one of mine
