Default perform service ??

My overhead center is giving me a "perform service" message......... What would that entail? Oil change? I couldn't find anything in my manual.

Please help.

The overhead message is not related to anything needing service right away. It is a reminder to you, the owner/operator that the set interval time between services is up.

Does it go away after a while on it's own or do I have to clear the message myself?? What does it take to stop having the message pop up?

No it will not go away on its own, you will need to reset it after or before you do its regular maint service, oil, air filter stuff like that.

Like Purple said you will have to reset the service reminder. It will never just go away and I don't think there is a way of turning it off, unless you do some wire cutting. You can however, adjust the time between intervals giving yourself more time between services, but that is up to you.

I recently changed the air filter and will be doing an oil change this weekend. How do I reset the overhead?

That tells me how to set it to 0 miles, but what if I just want it to remain at the 3000 miles for later? I just want it to stop now. Do I reset it tot zero, then reset it back to 3000?

Read the whole page, There are several links on how to set what ever you want. I did the research for you, found the link, now read a lil. Gonna have to learn your jeep if your gonna own a jeep! Not trying to be rude. But would you like me to drive it for you too?

Dang dude, I'm at work and don't have a lot of time to sit and read it. Why is it some people on these forums think they can be a jerk just because somebody asks a few questions which is what forums are for? I mean really..... People join forums for help, not smart a$$ attitudes from people with a high post count. I'll do the homework and appreciate the helpful link but the rest of the comments are pretty much uncalled for to be honest. These types of replies are what drives people away from helpful forums. Again, I apprecaite the help but the added remarks are not needed. Flame away........ that's usually what follows when somebody stands up for themselves.
