PCM issues?
I have a 2001 Cherokee Limited with the 4.7L V8. I got a P0202 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 2 code (only code shown). My jeep barley starts and when it does it sounds like its missing bad, RPM's float between 600-1000.
So far I have changed all spark plugs, coil packs, injectors, fuel filter, cam positioning sensor, (not the crank yet since i've heard its a *****) and a couple sensors on the intake. I am still getting the P0202 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 2 code... I've inspected the wiring on injector 2 and it doesn't seem to be an issue, I'm looking at replacing the PCM, think this will do the trick? |
Back-probe the #2 injector plug and see if you're getting an active pulse signal. It could be as simple as a bent pin on the PCM harness or a bad solder connection.
Don't condemn the PCM before you check out your electrical circuits. The problem is NOT ALWAYS components. I can't figure out why you changed all the ignition stuff when the code was for the injector. |
