Oil Pressure Gauge Maxed out at 80.
My oil pressure gauge stays maxed out at 80 when engine is running. I just got the jeep and the person I got it from says that it has always done this. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it a simple sensor fix maybe? Anything else that I should look for? Its a 1993 ZJ GC Limited w/318.

Mine did the same thing. When you turn the key on (not starting it) does it race over to 80? Or does it just sit at 0? More than likely your oil pressure sending unit is bad. Very easy to replace. But you may want to look at the wiring first and make sure it is secure and there in good shape. Also if you have a multimeter or test light you may want to verify that there is power. Hope you fix it.
