Default oil and filterchange on my tranny `93 GC

:-) 3 hour, drove my car on some 7,5cm solid rock under each wheel so i got a litle more space under the car, my tranny did have oil plug, but there was plenty oil left. The biggest trouble was to get the oilpan with the oilstick tube out, i didnt get to split the oilstick tube (is it possible)? How long should i drive before change the oil again, and do i need to do it more than once? There wasnt much metal on the magnet, only i litle gray powder on the edge of the magnets, maybe as much as a 1/2 match head.

Most people recommend 30,000 miles. Convert that the kilometers, but its a ball park figure. Any "modern" transmission will go 120,000 miles or more, if you keep this schedule.

i was thinking about how long to drive before i did the second and maybe third change since its a lot of old oil left in the tranny.

jronald is right...you should be changing the ATF about every 30,000 miles (or after a deep water driving).
You should also change the filter every second ATF change (every 60,000 miles). The drain plug for the tranny pan is magnetized to catch stray metal shavings...make sure you check that. Any residual ATF in the pan (if you just do the fluid change) doesn't affect your fluid change cycle...just drain and refill. If you do drop the pan, you should make sure that that pan and the two magnets on the bottom are completely clean before you reinstall the pan. That means no residual ATF.

I had a problem with that dipstick too (just recently did a full change). I ended up unbolting it and pulling it through in one piece...getting that bolt out wasn't fun either. You should be able to separate the dipstick but I couldn't either. I just decided not to mess with it. Turns out, it wasn't too much of a hassle to do it that way (aside from that damn bolt).
