Oil amount for 2012 Jeep 5.7 Hemo: recommended vs dip stick level

Oil amount for 2012 Jeep 5.7 Hemo: recommended vs dip stick level
I have had my oil changed three times at a Jeep service department which states they put in the recommended amount of oil. When checking the dip stick each time shows 1/4 to one quart low. My question is which do I trust the recommended amount or the dip stick?

Old fart with a wrench
If the stick is like my 2000 4.0, anything above the ADD line is sufficient. More than 1 qt. above that line is enough to give it a chance to foam.
